1" CBN wheel adapter?

Post by Arrowx »

I have a new 6" CBN wheel that I need to attach to my bench grinder. My problem is that the grinder arbor is 1/2". I have found arbor sleeve adaptors to reduce to 1/2". Is that a smart idea with CBN wheels?
Thanks!

I think that should be OK but you might want a more precise sleeve than the run of the mill ones. For instance, CBN wheels are very heavy compared to other wheels. A cheap plastic sleeve would not be appropriate in my opinion.
I would contact Wood Turners Wonders at https://woodturnerswonders.com/. They sell a huge variety of CBN wheels and the owner is very knowledgeable and forth cumming with good advice.

Thank you for the quick reply. The idea of plastic sleeves made me nervous but I wondered about metal ones. I will certainly check out the business you suggested
