Older Mk v shaper fence update?

I have the old style Mk V shaper fence that used to clamp onto the old style table. But I’ve updated to the Mk 510 rail system years ago and now want to use that old shaper fence on the new system. Does anyone know what I would need to get to attach the old shaper fence to the 510 tube rail table system? Appreciate any help.

I don't know of anything out there to attach the original Shaper Fence to the tube rails for the Mark V 510/505 but I have seen adding mounting holes in it to match the mounting holes in the Table. You can see what it looks like in the picture below. The arrows indicate where the new holes are added to the fence and the hardware is shown in place.

I have not done this since I have Shaper Fences for the different Shopsmith models. The PDF below includes the instructions for the Shaper Fence and on the last page where to put the holes for use on the larger tables of the newer models.

That appears it will work, but so far I haven’t seen exactly how & where it attaches to the table top. In holes? To the miter slot? If it attaches to the miter slot, then there must be a pair of miter nuts that slide into the miter slot?? Thanks, but just a little more info is needed please.

Here is a proof of concept to attach the shaper fence my 520 fence using SS T-nuts. I also have some WoodAnchor nuts I got from BuckeyDennis that could be used to attach new fences to the shaper fence. I believe this could work on the 510 fence as well. I can see making this nearly like the pro router table fence in a box like configuration with dust collection.

Not in the miter slot. The 510 main table has two holes in it to the left of the blade.

steverboss,

The picture below shows the location of the Shaper Fence Mounting holes on a 510/505 Table as indicated by the arrows.

The Table above is from a 2006 505 but older 510/505 tables have ribs all across the table instead of the smooth section between the Miter Slots. The Shaper Fence holes are still in the same location on the Table.
