Mark V Headstock Housing Screw Size

I'm in the process of switching out my original greenie headstock housing for a newer style and I'm wondering what type and size screw is used for the screw clips that are used to attach the covers to the main headstock housing?

Without knowing for sure that the installed screw clips are original, knowing what size screws I use in mine would do you no good.
If you are going to change out screws, I suggest that you also change out the old screw clips. In doing this, you can purchase matching clips and screws all at the same time. I don't know what this hardware will cost but it can't be a budget breaker.
Also, it seems to me that the screws holding the end cap on the headstock are different than the screws holding the motor pan]

I have been buying the following #8 spring clips from mcmaster.com
94808A185 STANDARD U-STYLE CLIP-ON NUT, NO. 8, .110" - .187" PANEL, .312" HOLE CTR TO EDGE PK 7.94
I have been using the following #10 stainless steel sheet metal screws in the above spring clips for the motor pan and belt housing.
90184A374 316 SS PAN HEAD PHILLIPS SHEET METAL SCREW, NO 10 SIZE, 3/4" LENGTH PK 10.44
I have been using these on the older headstocks by drilling the headstock holes to allow the use of the #10 sheet metal screws and #8 spring clips.

Bill Mayo knows best - follow his advice!
Until his post, I didn't know there was a specific size of screw to use. Those clips are fairly forgiving. Although I still have the original sheet metal screws that came with the unit, I have stripped out the hole where the screw for the end of the motor case attaches. (no clip here!) To solve this problem, I just got into my collection of SMS's and selected one that fit - and tightened.
