Bench Tube Mounted Tool Holder for my Goldie

Post by easterngray »

Here are some pictures of a bench tube mounted tool holder I made for my Goldie. I have not yet decided what finish to use on it. I wanted a tool holder that would hold items used when in saw mode. The drawback to this design is that you can not lower the table low enough for horizontal boring, routing or drum sanding without the table legs hitting the holder. That said, I have a second table that I am going to shorten the legs on for such uses. In light of this problem though, this is not a design for everybody. The tools are very handily located though, and I have been happy with it. Alec

Maybe you could attach some kind of hooks at each end of the top that offsets the holder from the bench tubes a couple of inches. You could then attach spacers that rest against the legs to hold it straight at the bottom. I think the weight alone would keep it stable.

Great idea, I never thought of a vertical arrangement for tool storage. Nice take on the traditional accessory shelf.

Since it works for you - that's Great! Pretty cool way of thinking outside of the box. Very nice looking machine and shop! You can come into my shop only with a blindfold, I'd be embarrassed!

Looks like a GREAT functional added piece there. I'm going to have to steal your idea with a place to hold the power coupler. Then I'll have a place to put it and find it every time I need it.

Thanks for the kind words - I think I will stain it rather than paint it - I will post more pics when I get my second table altered as well. Cheers - Alec
