I received the Shopsmith Routing System "Clearance" email this morning. As I have a very limited shop area, can anyone who has this system comment on its' effectiveness etc. I do not have an overhead pin router and that item is not in my budget right now - thought that this might be a reasonable alternative.
Thanks!

I have the table. Mine is mounted on a stand.
The pictures of the product on clearance looks to be only the table top, fence and router bit guard/shield.
It does not come with the insert plate for your router, but instructions of how to make one. You have to mount the table on something, it is essentially a formica covered piece of plywood with a series of holes with threaded inserts in them to accomadate the thumbscrews for the fence..
I like mine. I mounted a one piece plywood fence on the small aluminum angle stock that SS calls a fence. It works very well. I have found the fence to be adequate in the available positions. You cannot mount the fence much more than 7 inches away from the bit.
I was hoping to buy another insert plate for mine, just for a backup if the one I have ever sags. I guess I'll have to build one if that ever happens. I have a SS insert which is quite nice with close clearance inserts for various bit sizes.
I never use the guard, it is in the way and doesn't help AT ALL...

the table top is on clearance.
as far as I could tell, the fence and the guard/shield are available for order but do not seem to be marked as on sale at a discount.
the ad says that the table top includes the T-track, plans for making a router plate, and plans for building a stand.

I just received one of these the other day to replace one which came with my used stand-alone router system cracked. I have no idea how as it was well packed. I put a claim in & received a check for a replacement table & just got around to ordering it. It came just as described. Some assembly required...
