Were you using a combination of the 520 and 510 Floating Tables?

80spiders has both a 520 and a 510. Using both 520 & 510 Floating Tables together in a setup is what I was wondering if can be done. Example - Mark V 520 for the Main, Extension and possibly Floating Tables with 510 Floating Tables as the outfeed tables.
That should not be a problem. Extension tables are not a problem. You can use 510 extension tables with a 520 main table. The only thing you can't do is is use the 5' connector tubes with a mix of main table and extension tables. However, 5' connector tubes are not required with the brackets in question.

As for mixing tables for in feed or out feed it should be possible. The brackets are adjustable to match the height of the in feed/out feed table pair to match the main table. There should be more than enough adjustment to compensate for the difference in the 510 vs 520 connector tube difference.

The only caveat would be when using a pair of floating tables for either in feed or out feed as seen in the picture of my setup in the SS sale ad. The pair would have to be both 510 or 520..

To save money, I've seen floating tables with a 510 tube on one end and a 520 extrusion on the other. Because you're utilizing the adjustable legs on the '510 end, this works in a variety of circumstances.

 The adjustable legs work with both the 510 and 520 rail system.

If you do this will the extension tables be co-planar with the main table???

As long as both in/out feed tables have identical end sets (which may be 510 on one end and 520 on the opposite end) they should be coplaner as long as the bracket adjustment is done correctly as John mentioned.

I know I’m late to this. I bought two set when they where on sale so I could do both infeed and outfeed at the same time. I got three 520 table system and this gives me more table place the just off setting the extension table with the floating tables.

At the time I was cutting strip of PVC trim broad to make a few fan style trellises.

My second main table had a damaged rail and the third was loaded down with stuff so I made do with four floating tables

Like the ideal I can use my three main tables this way and the add the floating tables to either or both sides of them for wider tables.

Very creative setup. I like the use of the second fence on the infeed side.

Hey Russ I don’t recall why I didn’t have the third on the outside. I think it was because I couldn’t slide it in place because the two locking levers wouldn’t hit the one on the main table and I decided I didn’t need it on that side. So I didn’t try flipping the floating table around to see if it would work the other way around.

Now I know why someone would want two fences. Just when I thought I had everything I would ever need for my Shopsmith.

Thanks
