Miter saw mounted to adjustable table?

I am not sure why you would want to raise or lower the miter saw once it is mounted. I would just use a couple of stop collars on the table tubes to support the weight. Problem solved. You will still have the ability to change the height if needed.

OP update. Yes RF Guy, I was first considering vertical adjustment but now like comments of keeping the main table free for other uses. The Shopsmith came in with the kitchen reno..

Stop collars would definitely be a good thing !! You can also use a second carriage and table , even the MKV 500 table if you have one for a very stable table platform that can span nearly the entire length of the tubes for cutting larger heavier goods .

Delayed intro/photos [moderator delete if not allowed]. I am a retired from Emergency Response and updating my workshop after just completing a DIIY kitchen remodel (where the SS units were so useful). Looking forward to exploring/sharing info on this forum with my woodworking hobby.

I have two miter saws , neither had the same exact deck / table height ,,when I was first attempting to do this I found that with the vertical adjustment I could set up the saws / sliding miter saw and the smaller fixed miter saw with the use of the extension tables , I had the ability to use both saws by adjusting the main table , if you were to mount one saw and dedicate it to the tubes and still have the ability to slide the saw from one end to the other and lock it down you could do the same thing , the benefit of the extension tables on both ends allow a fence to be mounted on either side of the blade as well as support the cut off end ,this works very well for cutting / duplicating a lot of boards all the same length . JMO

Going to test out this arrangement of using u-bolts on the tubes. Swapped the tables with the other base for second main table as an better fence mount for extra wide table saw use. Left over countertop on the bottom of miter saw slides in/out with 2x4 Z-brackets, as a lay down shelf, (tape measure, cut-offs, etc.). Thanks all for your input in optimizing both units.

RF guy: About the kitchen HVAC return, it was vertical grille on a prior wall so had to expand the island cabinets deeper to keep the same square inch return flow, but in a horizontal mount.
