Bandsaw problems

Boy I've been dealing with tool problems lately! Current issue is my Bandsaw, a 1959 Magna era model w/the iron table. When I bought the saw it was mounted on it's own SS stand with a motor and link belt. The motor is a grossly underpowered 1/3 HP - so I decided to finally pull it from the stand and just use it off of the headstock on my Mark V. Much to my dismay, the aluminum drive hub will not fit on the spindle that drives the lower wheel! The spindle measures just a hair over 1/2" in diameter from the flat. Does this sound like the original spindle dimension? I pulled the steel drive hub from my jointer and it doesn't fit either. Any help with this is appreciated. Alec

Mine is 5/8" and seemed to be slightly oversized when I tried putting router chuck on it(another thread). The 5/8" coupler fit just fine. The chuck is MUCH longer! Does the BS have the mounting tubes? What diam is the BS shaft 'inside' the flat?

BTW the hubs come in two sizes(1/2" and 5/8"). The 1/2" fits the jointer and the jigsaw. The 5/8" fits just about everything else. I do NOT know about the scroll saw.

Thanks JPG - evidently I just need the 5/8ths. Alec
