Can anyone give me a current Nylined bearing replacement for Part Number 502265 on a 610 jig saw?

Sorry, there hasn't been an answer for you yet. Unfortunately, I don't really have one for you either. The lower guide sleeve part number 502265 called the Nylined Bearing isn't available any longer from Shopsmith as is the case of almost all, if any of the Jig Saw parts. My question is how damaged is it or is it just worn? This doesn't seem like a high wear point unless the Jig Saw was run without oil in it. Is your desire to replace it only because oil leaks out the Expansion Plug P/N 502267?

I have not taken it a part yet. I'm waiting on another part to arrive. Yes I do desire to replace it due to leakage out of expansion plug. I have not used jig saw in a long time and maybe the leak is minor. I did visit a bearing distributor today and he thinks he can find a bearing once I am able to give him dimensions and hopefully be able to remove it without damage. Thanks for responding.

I'd check with Chad (Workshop Nerdery) for advise. He's made YouTube videos on exactly this problem. Surely he's got the numbers.

It may be helpful to note that the original question from
bobwilley was about the Nylined Bearing P/N 502265 which is for the Lower Chuck Shaft. In the video
chiroindixon referenced and Ron posted above it is about the Oil Seal P/N 502264 for the Drive Shaft.
Something to remember for all Magna/Shopsmith Jig Saw users is to keep the Vent Holes in the main Housing open. Those Vent Holes are indicated by the arrows in the picture below.

In the picture above the Nylined Bearing P/N 502265 for the Lower Chuck Shaft is under the puddle of oil. Sorry it is not easily seen but I drained the oil and took the cover off for the Vent hole picture. I wasn't worried about a little oil in the bottom of the Housing.

I am in the process of overhauling a newly acquired jig saw and had the same question about the Nylined bearing. I believe I found a replacement for it. It's a Thomson Nyliner, Standard Straight Sleeve with Lubrication Groove, Carbon Steel Outer Sleeve, Part #10N12.

I am trying to confirm that's the correct replacement with the manufacturer but here is their Designer's Guide for their product line:

Here's a link to their distributor list:

I also found it at BDIExpress which is the who I am reaching out to confirm the correct replacement part number and order the replacement. They require that you register and you must also request a price for this part which I've done. I'm waiting on a reply on my request. I'll post an update when I hear back from them.

Update:
I talked to a representative at BdiExpress and the good news is that you can just replace the inner nylon insert without having to press out the outer sleeve/bushing. The part number is
10L12 + NO. 3 OIL GRV. A link to the product page is listed below. I'm still waiting on a price quote from them. I'll order a pair and report back...

VonZipper,
I look forward to your updates. I have two Jig Saws to restore. One a 1957 Greenie and the other a gray approximately 1973 or early 1974. My primary Jig Saw is a 1980 which leaks out the bottom so I may fix that too if what you found works.
