I watched https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2S7ICFrSttAbut about doing a home upgrade of the quill but I was wondering how deep and to what width he machined the casing and what bearing he used. Anybody know?
Thx

Re: Homebrew quill upgrade
This is a modification offered for sale by mkctools rather than a utube home DIY project. I would guess though that most people that have the equipment to perform the mod can work out the key dimensions. Here is a pic from his on-line catalog that gives some approximations:
A similar modification is available for quills compatible with Gilmer drive (6 spline).
