Bing AI Chat Bot Shopsmith Poem

Post by BigAl »

Haven't posted for a while . . . .Okay . . . I asked the new Bing artificial intelligence chat bot to write a poem about Shopsmith.

Here's what its silicon brain came up with:

"Here’s a poem about a Shopsmith:

A Shopsmith is a woodworker’s dream, It’s a tool that’s built to last, it seems. It’s versatile and strong, And it can do no wrong.

It’s a lathe, a drill press, and more, It’s a tool that you’ll adore. It can sand and saw and plane, And it will make your woodworking projects insane.

So if you’re looking for a tool that’s great, A Shopsmith is what you should contemplate. It will make your woodworking dreams come true, And it will make your projects look brand new.

I hope you enjoyed this poem!"

I don't know if this is fun or just disturbing . . .

It is kind of fun in this context. However, in real world situations it is very scary.

I asked Bard (Google's AI) to write a couple haikus. The first was so-so, the second better.

One machine, many uses
A true craftsman's delight
The Shopsmith is here

A limerick from Bing AI:

There once was a man with a Shopsmith
Who loved to make things out of wood
He could saw, drill and sand
With his versatile brand
And his projects were always so good

How about a sonnet from Chat GPT, generated in less than 5 seconds:

Of all the tools a craftsman may own,
There's one that stands above the rest,
A true workhorse, with power to hone
And shape and carve, and do his best.

With Shopsmith at his fingertips,
He'll turn a block of wood to gold,
Or fashion steel with gentle tips,
And craft a masterpiece to behold.

With saw and lathe and drill combined,
This versatile machine can do it all,
And save him time and ease his mind,
When he's faced with a challenging call.

Oh, Shopsmith, you're the craftsman's dream,
A tool so great, it reigns supreme.

A limerick from Bard:

There once was a tool named Shopsmith,
It could do many a thing,
It could cut, saw, and drill,
And even sand and file,
A true craftsman's dream, it was king.
