Help please - Bandsaw upper blade guide nylon bolt installation location

I want to upgrade my 1985 bandsaw with the nylon bolt that steadies the upper blade guide column to minimize side to side movement when the guide is locked in place. I see two possible locations to drill and tap the bolt hole (green dot and red dot in the attached photos). The red dot location allows a 1/2” deep hole while the green dot location allows only a 5/32” deep hole. The online parts diagram isn’t very helpful.
What is the correct location to drill and tap the bolt hole? Any installation gotchas I should be aware of?
