Today:

I made some long boards shorter.
I made some wide boards narrower.
I made some crooked boards straight.
I made some cupped boards flat.
I made some thick boards thinner.

To accomplish this, I used the table saw, jointer, bandsaw, and planer. These are normal everyday operations for a woodworker. The great thing is that my Shopsmith did it all with a little bit of help from me.

Have YOU thanked your Shopsmith today?

All of the above is the start of a birthday present for my wife. We had a discussion and decided the she already has pretty much whatever she wants that you can readily buy in a store. I suggested that I make a present for her instead. She was all for it. She still doesn't know what it is but it will help solve a problem that driver her crazy everyday. I can't tell you what it is yet so you won't spoil the secret but it won't take too long so I'll soon post pictures and her reaction.

Several years ago, we started a tradition in our family that we would draw names, and for the person selected, you had to make a Christmas present for him/her. Today, these hand made Christmas presents are the highlight of Christmas morning.
