Sanding Disk

Will the aluminum sanding disk work on a Mark V 520 or are they only for the 10E/10ER?

Hi Bob,
I do knot own either the aluminum disk or a 10E/ER, but if the disk fits on the quill, I wood say that it will work. It may knot fit in the table insert though.

The aluminum disc will obviously fit the spindle. I believe the hub is too short to allow it to be used with the lower saw guard.

I don't have any problems. I've mounted them to the gilmar and poly-v single and double bearing quills. I don't use a saw guard on my greenie. When I use the sanding disk I just push the table up next to the disk. Works fine for me. The original Mark 5 sanding disk was aluminum.

The aluminum sanding disks were NOT intended to be used anywhere but just off the table edge. The ability to use a sanding disk inside the table was achieved by making it thinner(steel). The differences in the 505/510/520 tables/guards made it necessary to have two different hub 'lengths'.

Thanks for all the good info (as usual from this group).
I have a chance to get one from a person that has a bunch of other stuff in a box he wants to get rid of.
