Looking for project ideas

I wish that was my Moravian workbench in the photo! It’s on my bucket list, but not yet at the top. Meanwhile, I curse myself every time I need to handplane something without a decent hand-tool bench. Your 1985 bench would come in mighty handy in my shop (if I could only find the space for it).

I wish that was my workbench too! First I need to make a more general purpose bench just so I don't beat up my table saw and 510 tables. Also Looking at the progress on the nice looking bench started in this thread.

I think at least try to make a nice shop stool or step stool with what you have.

That’s a great idea - I’ve been wishing I had a taller step stool to make it easier to reach the upper shelves in my shop. Then I’d be able to give my wife back the folding plastic stool I “borrowed” from the laundry room!

What is the item on your bench with a brass knob? Looks like a hold down, but I've not seen one like that. It also appears to be in a slot, rather than a round hole. Does it protrude through and under the bench like the hold downs on the bench legs?

I wish that were my bench, but alas, it's just a photo of a nice Moravian-style bench that I found on the internet. The item in question appears to be a Veritas hold-down.

$119.00! I think I would rather save those pennies for a quality hand plane!

As one of my first shop projects, I made a shop stool. It has served me well, but I would really like a do-over on that, and to make a pair of them.
