24" Aluminum Miter Gauge Extension

I just received an aluminum miter gauge extension via UPS from ebay. As I am new to woodworking, just collecting my Shopsmith stuff, this is going to be duh question but i have to ask in case the darn thing is supposed to have a slight curve or bow to it. I would think it should be straight as an arrow but this one is bowed. Let me know if I have piece of junk.

It should be straight. Anything other than straight will throw off the angle of the cross cut be it 90° or some other set angle.

John, thank you for your quick reply, I have packed up the extension and have contacted ebay for the return - going out today.

The other 'surface' is likely bowed as well. Flattening it may eliminate the 'bow'.
I would return it assuming that IS an option.
