Anybody have a canister filter number that fits a DC3300? Just being lazy here. I can figure it out myself but if someone has done the legwork I’d be happy to benefit from your effort. I’ve found Donaldson filters for my other DCs in the past and they really make a difference.

Fit??? How are you intending to mount it?

Not sure yet. Probably some kind of adapter plate and a pipe insulation gasket around the DC body / bungee or turnbuckle tie downs. Just checking the composite brain before I hurt mine too much.

I have a vague recollection that someone here did that by making a wood adapter plate. Sadly VERY vague.

That’s exactly what I was looking for …. sort of. It would be really easy if it wasn’t for the big elbow sticking up but the sheet metal spacer looks easy and from there on it’s just a matter of going down to the truck shop and measuring filters. I do lean toward truck air cleaner filters because they are locally available and usually about half the price of “dust collector” filters. The micron rating is the same or better on most and the construction is the same.
I’ll keep you posted.

Just buy the DC6000 upgrade kit. No more elbow sticking up. Now the price of the upgrade may be an issue but that's a different kind of stick up.

I’m sure it’s a useful upgrade but the price will be making me try this one out before I go that way. In my experience a canister filter is a huge upgrade from a bag and a whole lot cheaper than the 6000 upgrade.

I wasn't serious. But the 6000 upgrade eliminates the elbow sticking up which means a canister conversion would be easy.
