510/520 Accessory shelf
Since I've upgraded my Greenie to a 510, I need to make a new accessory shelf. I'm using the official one as a starting point. There are two slots in front of the sanding disk. In the photo from the SS website there seems to be something stored there. What is this object (circled in green)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ah yes! I see it now. Obvious now that I know what it is ;-)

My mind wanted to try to make it into something lying flat. But it's the jaws of the arbor wrench sticking up. The rest of the wrench is hidden from view.

Re: 510/520 Accessory shelf
I blew the pix up and tweaked it. I now 'see' the edge of the wrench.
What goes in the smaller slot to the left? Clearance for the quick lock handle on the tool rest? NOPE!!!!

I think I know the one you mean. I've found only one picture of it and it's a pic someone posted on this board
So far I've not found any pictures of a loaded shelf that show it. It would be under the toolrest. No idea....

This earlier discussion shows another wrench in the smaller slot.

Re: 510/520 Accessory shelf
I’ve always been curious about the accessory shelf thing. They look cool, and very neatly organized. But given all the sawdust that I have to clean up from underneath my Mark V, even with dust collection, I would think that everything on the shelf would quickly get buried in sawdust. It doesn’t look particularly easy to clean up with the accessories in place, either, unlike a nice flat floor. What wisdom do you long-term users have to share? Is it truly useful storage, or is it more trouble than it’s worth?

Thanks, Keith! That answers that! Makes sense to keep two wrenches together. That thread you linked led me to finding this:
I find the shelf very handy. Yes stuff gets buried in sawdust pretty quickly but I usually blow the whole machine off with compressed air before I put it away, so I blow off the shelf as well then sweep up the floor.
That said, on this one I'm going to staple a piece of cloth across the inside edge which I can pull forward and over to cover the shelf. Not sure if I'll like or not, but I'll give it a try.
A slightly different arrangement than the one I pictured but similar enough.I find the shelf very handy. Yes stuff gets buried in sawdust pretty quickly but I usually blow the whole machine off with compressed air before I put it away, so I blow off the shelf as well then sweep up the floor.
