Mk VII series 1 for sale to good home.

Post by docmirror »

I bought another airplane, so I need to free up some space in my hangar. I'll sell the early Mk VII for a couple hundred bucks to whomever can come get it. I will offer to meet someone if not too far from the DFW area.

It's a series 1, with the open leg base. Everything works but the vac system is missing and the motor shaft where the vac is attached is broken off, so no vac. There are no gear teeth on the ways to move the headstock because it has a 500 series table which has no provision for the gear teeth. I have a new set of gear rods that come with it, if someone wants to redo it correctly. I've cut, sanded, drilled with it and it does just fine. The quill moves smooth, and the speed adjust works great from 700-6800. I have some attachments that I will offer for added cost if it's useful. Shaper, and a planer, and maybe a belt sander. Things to note, it has a custom type repl switch and reverse switch. I also have the correct blade slot guard, just not on it right now.

I'm not looking to make money on it, just get it in the hands of someone who will enjoy it. Not in great shape, but still plenty of miles left on the machine. It'll be listed here for a while, and if no interest I'll toss it on CL and see what happens. I may also sell one of the other units after this one goes. No real reason for me to have three of the darn things, and someone else can use it for intended purpose.

You should PM docmirror. He is amassing Mark VIIs in TX.

ETA: Hold on thar! You are docmirror. You were interested in azcoot87's Mark VII if he was closer to TX so I thought you'd be interested in this one, that turns out you are giving away! :)

Wey-ull, I wasn't really interested, but I figgered if I had three, and then I had four, I would - as they say 'corner the market' in Mk VII's. My theory of never having enough Mk VII's has come up against the reality of limited floor space, and a new little baby airplane arriving in a few weeks.

Wish you weren't all the way in the north woods, I'd gladly let you have it at half price. You could make a special trip down here, and stay on the boat in the harbor for a few days, go fishing, then take the machine back with you.

Why would I be going back?

Harbor charges extra for liveaboard. Plus my rent, I guess you could hang for a while. At least until spring. ;)
