DIY Christmas trees

My better half would like me to make some 8” to 10” Christmas trees for her seasonal decorations. She wants them to look kind of 3dish but only be two sided with the bottom being thicker than the top but not on a slant. I’ve given her a couple ideas but she does not care for them. Has anybody made any and have any photos? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean something like the pic below? I saw these CNC produced ones online a few years ago and bought one for my parents. I despise MDF (what they are made of), and I have never had interest in scroll saw work, so I decided to purchase it for them rather than build it. They loved it. How were you planning on building something like this? Just curious if you intended something like a scroll saw or bandsaw to make them. Also not clear on the size. Does she want them as like tree ornaments or more for decorations on end tables, etc.? Sounds like a fun project though. Let us know what you come up with.

Hard for me to explain but I’ll try imagine a flat two sided Christmas tree say made with 1/4” plywood then on front and back surface the bottom having a decorative piece adding about 1/4 inch on front and back bottom then the middle with a little thinner piece doing the same thing then the top pice still even thinner on each side. She has the idea from seeing this. I will add photo.

OK this was what I started with but she would like it on both sides but with the bottom having more layers than the top on both side but still have the overlap. Sorry best I can try to explain.

Is this something like you are thinking about? I'm not sure about the scalloped edges, maybe scallop the bottom (cyan) layer and paint the others on? I assumed 1/4" plywood and made it 10" tall. All I did was reverse your layering scheme.

OR taper the 'branches'. Thicker at the bottom to 0 thickness at the 'top' of each branches.

Also taper the top end of the trunk to 0 thickness to create a pointed top.
