Basic question - WHAT is slipping?

Blade stopping, motor running, gotta be slipping somewhere in between.

Make sure the blade is tracking straight if you are resawing against a fence. If you are using a fence you can use an additional block of wood against the fence that stops short of the blade allowing the wood freedom to move laterally when internal stress is relieved by sawing. Also, lubricate your saw blade with Canola oil food spray. The highly refined Canola oil leaves little residue.

The additional block of wood against the fence short of the blade and some vegetable oil did the trick! I didn't have canola spray handy but it's now on the grocery list.
Thanks everyone!
