Who made it? I assume those d-xxx are casting part numbers.

It is a drill press.

It resembles a Delta Radial Drill Press. Similar to this one but I think older: http://vintagemachinery.org/registry/de ... px?id=2257

ETA: Maybe not really older.

A side shot of the head might help. Delta 11-280s were also sold my JC Penny with it's own serial numbering. They are pretty cool with the head mounted on a sliding boom that rotates on 2 axes.

I finally found the tag. It’s a SHOPMASTER MODEL NO. DP24a. What’s a good site to get a manual so I can learn how to use it.

Here's a Vintage Machine database entry for that model: http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/ ... x?id=42703

They have a very basic manual for it online. It has a parts breakdown and a little extra info: http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/746/6570.pdf

I also see it as a Delta radial drill, with the head mounted on a sliding arm that LINK REMOVED rotates on two really impressive axes.
