ordered!

I missed the discount deadline, but ordered a set last night. I'll post a report after I do some drilling. Thanks for the feedback! Alec

UPDATE: The bits arrived and they are very nice. They do indeed bore to full depth without requiring backing out to clear chips. The quality seems very good and their sharp! I'm pleased. Alec

Rockler Power Bore Bits

Post by audir10 »

I bought these a few weeks ago with the 20% off deal. Used them to
do counterbores in oak and found them to be on par with a good forstner
bit for a flat bottom hole. There is no burning that one would get with the
forstner bit and the chips are removed cleanly as Alec states. I'm happy
with them but would not pay full price for the set.

I also bought a set on sale and after using a couple of times, I like them. They make clean holes very quickly. I did notice that after boring some holes for screw plugs, that some of the chips stuck in the bottom of the hole. I just use a screwdriver to scrape them loose and vacuumed them out.
