" I still don't understand what you meant when you said you "adjust the blades to 1/8 cutting height." Can you elaborate?

Me too. The height should be adjusted to the rear table at their highest point.

IF he did it otherwise I hope he is still around!

I don’t know how to link to a specific post
I thought there was a thing in the corner that would add the post number to the thread address. Did that change?
Yes, you are correct! That’s a little icon on my tablet for fat fingers :o . Next time I’ll zoom in. :)

All I have looked at on you tube says that the amount movement is supposed to be 1/8 inch when measured by a Stright edge to set the height of the jointer blade. If I am wrong.....please let me know the correct height.

If adjusted to the rear cutting height then how much cutting would be done?

IIUC your 1/8" is referring to the distance a straight edge will move when it is contacted by the blade as it is rotated past the high point. The straight edge is resting edge on the outfeed table.

The objective is to allow the blade to cut the workpiece so it will smoothly align with the plane of the outfeed table.

If you don't have a joiner manual you should get one. You can order one from Shopsmith: https://shopsmith.com/product/jointer-o ... or-555483/

It's a very dangerous machine if you don't set it up and use it as intended. Do you have a serial number on your joiner? It could be older than the 1984 510 you acquired used and you may want to install some upgrades.

Unfortunately, the links there are .net and not .com as they should be. I have corrected them in a new post. There is missing information/pictures in some of the threads.
I have not experienced any problem re the .net/.com issue. Clicking on them always works for me. This may have been corrected after a BB update.

Now as for the missing pix/information, to what do you refer? The adopting of different BB software after the posts were created resulted in the pix location within the text being moved to the bottom. It is possible to edit the posts to relocate the pix correctly and I have done so for several of my posts thus affected. That said there are simply too many for me to consider correcting them all.

I hope this jumbling of text/pix alignment is the reason for the missing pix/information comment and that there is not any missing stuff.

JPG,

When I click on links that have .net instead of .com they come up with a privacy error. This may be a problem I have due to settings and internet protection on my computer.

As for missing information and or pictures you are correct that they are moved to the bottom. For me, this occurs first in the Carriage Reassembly (A) and the pictures are at the bottom of the page instead of their original locations. I should have looked closer at the posts before stating that. :o
