After 25 years of trouble-free performance, today I turned the Mark5 on cranked up the speed and then the speed fell to its lowest point and stayed there regardless of where I turned the speed dial, I have since taken out the speed change mechanism and read that there should be something attaching it to the sheve, But I seen nothing. I am guessing that is the problem. Unfortunately, the one video I found on site talks about a retention clip, but they don't do a particularly good job of showing it so I know what I am looking for. I also can't find an parts or pieces of same in the casing where something may have fallen off or broken.
Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the Speed Control Handle with the slot/notch on top using a long 3/32" allen wrench. I find the aluminum gear teeth has worn or broken off that engage and turn the Speed Control Dial. There is a gentleman on Ebay who installs a steel gear in the handle and does an excellant job. Email me off-line for pictures and additional questions.

Dusty's post provided the illustration I was looking for. That little clip is hiding somewhere in the crevaces of the housing. Now I know what I am looking for. Many thanks!
