I never really liked the legs on the shopsmith so I came up with this. Lots of storage, zero cost. Embarrassed to say this was all made from scrap pine, plywood, mdf and even some cedar. I had way to much!!

That's really good looking scrap. :D

Even more storage than adding the wood box hanging from the Bench Tubes often seen. Building your own base allows for the height to be to the owner's preferred height.

Sweet!

I'm tempted to do the same, as storage space is always in short supply in my shop. Have you encountered any downsides to the new configuration?

I have no regrets at all yet, but I haven’t done a ton on it yet. Time will tell

Embarrassed????

You should be proud!!!

Re using scrap pine - Any damn fool can possibly make something worthwhile from straight lumber. Although I have run across some who could not even do that!
