Hey, I searched for a topic matching this one but didn't find it; if the answer already exists here somewhere please just direct me to the right place.
I am finishing an upgrade to the power pro 2.0 (on a Mark V) and the last thing to do is put the motor on and belt cover back on. But in the process of adjusting the belt tensions I had to extend the motor itself basically as far away from the idler shaft as it would go. Now, I can't get the motor pan back on because the power cord is jammed between the motor housing and the motor pan, and of course adding the protective connector to the cord where it comes through the pan is even worse (see pics). Anyone encountered this problem? Is the belt they sent me with the upgrade kit simply too long somehow? How do I solve this? Forcing the issue put a dent in the insulation in the cord, it's that tight of a squeeze.

Welcome to the Shopsmith Forum.
When doing the Power Pro upgrade, the hole for the power cord is to be relocated. If I remember correctly, from when I did mine the right rear hole, when facing the headstock from the front, previously used to mount the conventional motor is enlarged for the power cord as per the upgrade instructions. This offsets the power cord to clear the new motor. I would have to find the upgrade instructions to confirm that.

Thank you, Russ; my father did the first part of the upgrade and I guess he missed a step because you're right. Enlarging that hole is step 5. Guess I get to take a whole bunch of stuff apart now so I can get the power cord out of the opening it's currently in. Thanks again!
