I had a question about an item so clicked the "contact us" email link and sent them my question. The email so far has not been delivered and I keep getting this error:

Has anyone successfully emailed customer support lately? Or am I just unlucky?

To get the answer to my part question I probably will have to call. I doubt the person I talk to will have a ready answer, so there will be a wait while they find out, or they'll have to research it and call me back. Inefficient though that may be, I probably will get an answer.
However I'm less optimistic about my call leading to the resolution of whatever email problem they might be having because my general experience with various companies over the years is that the ball gets dropped somewhere along the line between the person on the phone and the person who can fix the problem. Thus my post

We all have our own preferences, e.g. phone vs. e-mail vs. text vs. F2F, vs. carrier pidgeon, vs. pony express, etc. However, I just want to point out that in my experience using both phone and e-mail with Shopsmith from a few years ago. There was a golden period where e-mail support was MUCH better than phone support at Shopsmith, at least for me. Maybe I just got lucky in getting in the queue with the right customer support people at Shopsmith via e-mail...I don't know. You may remember some of my past forum posts regarding product quality issues and shipping related damage that necessitated more customer service contact for me than the average Shopsmith customer for a time. At least on initiating contact, e-mails worked best and sometimes led to a phone call follow-up. Initiating with phone calls didn't work so well for me when I tried it. I haven't purchased anything recently, but just wanted to point out that for a time, e-mail was working better at customer service communication than phone support. Of course, my experience may have been unique.
I wonder what is best today at Shopsmith for customer support between phone, e-mail or even DM via their Facebook webpage???

HopefulSSer,
Is your part question something that can be answered here?
I got a reply back but it still wasn't 100% unambiguous. The question was this: the picture of the bandsaw offset posts show one pair of post assemblies (two assemblies), I.e. what you would need for one bandsaw. The description however is "Bandsaw Eccentric Tubes (
4 Pack)". Because I can't imagine a likely situation where you'd want half an assembly, "4 pack" would tend to imply TWO pair of post assemblies. I asked for clarification.
The reply was:
"It is two assemblies that have four eccentric bushings in total. Unfortunately, this is only sold in the " 4 pack."
So I think the first half of that reply is correct, and the second half indicates the person who answered is unfamiliar with how this part is used. Calling it a 4 pack makes no sense.
I'm not throwing shade on the person who answered! But there's a breakdown in communication there

HopefulSSer,
I understand the confusion that listing creates. It shows the picture below in the catalog. The listing says 4 pack but is it describing the 4 post sections or actually 4 complete Eccentric Tube Assemblies is unclear. I haven't purchased a set of these Bandsaw Eccentric Tubes, so I am not totally sure either. My primary Mark is a Mark 7 upgrade, so I have to remove STPs prior to going into Drill Press position. It really doesn't make sense to sell a 4 pack which would cover 2 Bandsaws. That's something most users would not need. It is also something purchasers of new Shopsmith Marks do not need with the Double Tilt Bench ends now used.

Below is the description from the catalog page.
Designed to offset your Bandsaw in the MARK V / MARK 4 mounting tubes just enough to allow you to raise to Drill Press position without having to remove the Bandsaw from its mount. \n \nNote: With the MARK 7, the Bandsaw and other Special Purpose Tools (SPTs) must always be removed when raising to vertical position.
I believe the Mark 4 and the Mark V 520S all came with Double Tilt Bench Ends so the Mark 7 note would actually apply to them too.
Bandsaws with the older Cast Iron Table and regular Eccentric Mounting Posts can be left on the Mark V while raising to the Drill Press Position. It is the Fence Rail on the Aluminum Table that the Tie Bar cannot clear while being raised into Drill Press position. When adjusting these Eccentric Tubes and the regular Eccentric Mounting Posts, the Posts should be turned so the Bandsaw is furthest away from the Headstock for this clearance.
