Compatible Miter Gauge for Shopsmith tables

Hello All,

I have been trying to find a miter gauge that is compatible with the Shopsmith tables and the only reference I could find was for the Incra miter V120 Shopsmith Edition but sadly Incra has discontinued the product. Does anyone know of an alternative they could recommend or has anyone had success retrofitting something like a Jessem or Incra miter gauge by putting a Shopsmith miter bar on it?

Thanks,

Greg

Incra's V120 and Osborne EB3 are the only two I know off hand that were made in a SS model. IIRC, there are two issues with replacing the miter gauge. The first one is the miter gauge bar width. The other issue is how close the miter gauge track is to the saw blade. This is actually the bigger issue as you do not want to hit the miter gauge with the saw blade. SS sells the miter gauge bars so getting one to replace the bar on a miter gauge should not be a problem. This was discussed some years ago. viewtopic.php?t=15486

Thanks Brenda. Looks like those two brands aren't being sold anymore so I'll have to try find a used one or as you said get a miter gauge bar from Shopsmith and try to retrofit a miter gauge with it. My only worry is it could be an expensive experiment to try the retrofit if it doesn't work.
