I'm about to make some substantial purchases IE: A lot of parts and accessories. If you order from Shopsmith, do they ship your item to you pretty fast or have you had to wait a long time to receive parts? Would I be better off both price wise and shipping faster trying to buy them on ebay? Just curious. Thanks again fellas....

I buy mine from Shopsmith directly. I KNOW what I'm getting then and they STAND BEHIND their items.

I fully agree with beeg; I've bought from both & while the eBay stuff may ship faster, it is often not quite the condition it seemed in the posting & often the price can edge past new from Shopsmith.
Some items from Shopsmith will go on backorder, but they are good at getting the ones in stock right out to you & then ship the backorder item upon availability. The price is good & it is absolutely new.

So is shopsmith slow on shipping always, or just if an item is out of stock? How long does it usually take to receive an item?

I found them to be slow just on back ordered items. If you have one item on a group order that is back ordered, just call them and they will send the rest out and follow the back ordered item when it comes in at no additional shipping charge.

Just recently I purchased the Velcro System and some planer blades. Received them in about a week. Then there have been times when it has taken months.

When they have all the items in your order in stock, they ship it fast. The only problem I've had with ordering from SS is that they don't always tell you that an item is on BO when you order it. SS must have an inventory management system connected to their online ordering.

I think we should order all that we can from Shopsmith. I don't think they qualify for a federal bail out like GMC . Government Motors Corporation

On occasion I experience back ordered items with Shopsmith. Then again I have back order issues with virtually everyone I order from. This is clearly a point in history where one can expect back orders. Shopsmith is my first preference for a source. In the event I can't get an item that is crucial and needed quickly I will check with Bill Mayo and a few times I have purchased from eBay. Frankly guality and product descriptions on eBay often leave a bit to be desired. Many eBay vendors wouldn't know rust if it bit them. When asked which version Mark V an item came from eBay vendors generally don't have a clue.
If you want it right and top quality go with Shopsmith. fjimp

I think you just have to be a little bit proactive and call them and check on things. I have always had good luck when I do that.
