Looking at the calendar, has anyone approached Shopsmith about an 80th anniversary get together in 2028? Just wondering. It seems the older you get, the faster the time goes.

The actual 80th anniversary would be from 1947 going by when Magna Engineering Corporation was formed and when the first Shopsmith Model 10E tools were made and shipped.

I like the way you think!! I was the guy who saw the 75th anniversary coming up a few years ago, and jumpstarted an effort to get an event together for that milestone. What made that successful was that the user community drove the agenda, and eventually the team at Shopsmith got onboard.
I think the same would have to happen for an 80th anniversary event - define a framework for the event, get a critical mass of the user community committed, and then reach out to Nick Cupps at Shopsmith to see if it would sufficiently overlap his business interests to get some support from the company.
I’ve already emptied my quiver for the 75th anniversary event, but hopefully someone else will want to take on the next one!
