If you have any interest in jumping into a simple challenge I’m hosting to celebrate 20,000 subscribers to the MyGrowthRings Youtube channel, simple make a replacement handle for your Shopsmith’s quill lever. I’ve shared a couple examples on my channel and several entries have already been posted on MyGrowthRings.com I’d love to see your ideas. Scott

Even if you are not interested in making your own handle check it out as there have been some great ideas already.

+1 Russ, It is a fun challenge and REALLY appreciate what Scott is doing for us in promoting the Shopsmith community.

I’ll post my entry here, got the creative juice going, but I won’t put this in the “great” category, but functional. Thanks again Scott.

I am upgrading my woodworking tools and am considering a Shopsmith Mark 7. My shop has a 6 foot 3 inch ceiling. How tall is the Mark 7 when opened up to use the features that require that? Question 2 is it driven by 110 or 220 power source? Thank you.

Hoot,

Welcome to the Shopsmith Forum.

Good question, I would have to measure the height when in Drill Press mode. It would be the same for the Mark 7 as it is for the Mark V models. Sorry I don't have the actual answer, but someone will know.

As for question 2 the answer is yes. The Mark 7 can run on either 110 or 220 by simply changing the plug. It comes wired as 110. I run mine on 110.

Lastly, I would recommend starting your own topic instead of having questions answered in another topic like this one. That would make finding the information you seek easier with it not being mixed in with other not so related information.
