I am subbed to this thread for the comments.

I watched the 1st few minutes of this video.

James IMHO is a U tube robot now.

Unlike my favorite channel (Hint Hint) MGR.

I am not being Bias just truthful.

I will stop there with my response.

Dude, I don't care whether you like Stumpy Nubbs or not. I don't care whether you like MGR or not. The ONLY point of this thread was to let other Shopsmith owners, or anyone else that peruses this forum, know that we lost another manufacturing tool maker. Triton tools is gone apparently. After seeing Stumpy's YT video I couldn't find a suitable news article on the Triton bankruptcy that looked best to share here, partly because Google search is all but worthless these days since they added AI mode. So, I chose to share Stumpy's video about it. Some Shopsmith owners might also own Triton tools so I was trying to help them out by letting them know they are gone unfortunately. Never occurred to me that one of you would be upset that Stumpy broke this news before Scott got to do it.

This is unfortunate and keeps happening to the companies that build tools you don't need to replace.

I have a 2.25HP Triton router that I've had mounted in my router table for 20+ years and it has performed flawlessly the entire time. I'm adding a router table to my table saw so I can use my Incra TS/LS with the joinery package and was attempting to buy another Triton Router but couldn't find any and then saw the video.

Chris,

Yeah, I had heard good things about the Triton router, and I thought they were kind of popular, so I was surprised to see the news on them going out of business. With a more involved Google search, I found this article below that just came out yesterday. So, fingers crossed, maybe Triton will come back to life like Shopsmith did.

Mr. Dude,

I apologize let me rephrase that. :D

Respected member RFGUY,

I agree with you that google search is Very poor since AI took over for the average user.

If a Person is smart enough, they can use AI to their advantage.

It's just a change that a person can choose to overcome or just complain about something they cannot change.

I always adapt and adjust to the current situation at hand.

I hope you can Make it a Great day. :) :)

By the way Thanks for sharing the video.

Your post is mocking and condescending. Reminds me why having this forum back is bittersweet. You could have just created your own thread praising Scott, but instead you chose to insult Stumpy and me on this thread I created trying to help other forum members. My mistake for trying to be helpful here.

Almost always it is a good idea to NOT read between the lines and react to incorrect conclusions/assumptions re the intent of the entity creating the lines.

So is AI why I am now getting irrelevant search results?

JPG,

Yes, this is what I was referring to up above, but be careful as I was told I was not smart enough to properly use AI up above for saying this. I remember before Google search added AI mode that searches were helpful most of the time. When they replaced their search algorithm with AI a few years ago it produced an AI summary at the top of the results, but I have found that often the top search results are NO longer what I am searching for. The ranking for top search results that the former algorithm could provide me has been thrown away for something that obfuscates the result now, but gives a brief, sometimes helpful, often not AI summary text at the top.

There was an interesting MIT study that just came out (link below). Summary of the article is that when they replaced human workers with AI, that the AI workers were essentially morons and incompetent. Yet companies still foolishly rush in to adopt AI. One tech CEO (Chamath Palihapitiya) recently shared in an interview that AI agents employed at his company cost $100k/year/agent due to token costs with AI providers, yet these AI agents were only doing 10-20% of the work of humans they were replacing. How can ANY company in good conscious replace human workers with AI, especially since it is a digital moron??? Yet, somehow I am labeled a moron for not wanting to use AI, for warning about AI and etc. :(
