PowerPro Parts Compatibility

The new Shopsmith CEO Q&A Video ( https://youtu.be/aIirKkYuxss) is out and had a tidbit on PowerPro part compatibility beginning about the 28:40 point. Evidently there have been internal changes to the Gen 2 touchscreen and the "Power Supply." Jim stated that this past fall the components and electronics in both the Power Supply and the Control Panel have changed and no longer support the "old programs" and cannot be made to do so. The only example of impact that they talked about was the Gen 1 to Gen 2 Upgrade, which would now require you to also replace the Power Supply. So they have had to "increase the cost of that upgrade slightly." I don't know about that because I get a 404 error when I try to look up the Upgrade, but I would guess something like 2X the price based on prices for the Upgrade and the "Power Supply" from a few months ago.
They did not talk about the impact of this on repairs, and this is the greatest concern to me.
On a more positive note, I'm looking forward to seeing what the new Miter Gauge offering will be.
ETA: I got past the 404 Error and found a price of $729.95 for the Gen 1 to Gen 2 Upgrade, currently out of stock. That's a good bit more than it was but a good bit less than I expected.
