Hey all,

Quick question. A friend just called from a garage sale with a Mark 10. It appears to be in good shape. Owner says it's from the 1950's. He's asking $450.

My friend wants to know if that's a fair price, and as a Mark V owner, I have no idea.

Any thoughts?

Neither do you know the actual condition nor what all is included. Seems high unless it is in excellent condition with many accessories/SPTs.

Probiably has been upgraded to a 510.

Assuming that this is a 10E or 10ER, it is really, really hard to say whether $450 is a fair price or not.

Maybe it's a "Model" 10, not a "Mark" 10. As in 10ER? If that's the case, $450 is too much.

I guess I'm just not sure of that. I sorta think that I would be happy to give mickyd $450 for his 10E when he's done with the restoration. This 10E (?) is an unknown but it may also be a restoration just like mickyd's.

Thanks for the replies. There were no accessories available with it (although my friend seemed to indicate that he was looking around the garage for "stuff that went with it") and from the cell-phone pictures I saw, it looked to be in "okay" condition (but it's hard to discern much from a little picture).

I ultimately told my friend that I really didn't know enough to say whether the price was a good one, but if I had to guess, I would guess $450 was high.

I actually only paid $30. The reason he sold it so cheap was due to a suspected burnt motor which I know now wasn't correct. Motor is probably fine with only TLC needed.....I hope.
