This is great news. Just another sign that ShopSmith is still "in-it for the long haul". Glad to hear their development group is still busy. Wonder what the cost of the new headstock will be?

This IS good news! Given the description of the new headstock, I would expect that the manufacturing cost (components and assembly) will be less than the current one and that the end price will be correspondingly lower. I also wonder if fewer mechanical parts will result in a lighter unit? In any event, Shopsmith can take my order now - I'll accept the "back order".

You've waited this long, I suggest you wait just a little bit longer. It might keep you from having to make two orders.
