I have seen a link on the shopsmith website that shows how to pack the headstock for shipping back to the company for a rebuild. But can not find it now. Please can you help. I'm stuck with no motor!

Here's one place to get information.
http://www.jacobs-repairshop.com/my_web_site_015.htm
Jacob Anderson has a very good reputation for doing excellent work at reasonable prices.
I'm sure someone else will send the info on shipping to the company. I don't recall seeing it anywhere lately.

here is the page with the link to the pdf:
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/productmanuals.htm
and this is the pdf:
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/prod ... ipping.pdf
it describes but has no figures.
it would be a good idea to call them and confirm the info before shipping.
the pdf may not have been updated since the store closed.
good luck,
Ivan
