Thought it would be interested in seeing who is following along (even at a snails pace) with the Sketchup 101 course that Tom has developed.

IMPORTANT: If your not currently taking it but plan to in the future, DO NOT ANSWER NO because this poll only allows you to answer once.

Currently, I have neither the time nor the desire, so I voted no. I do believe that it is a worthwhile idea and am glad to see the teacher and students have such an interest. Perhaps, sometime in the future, I may have more time and desire.

I just started today. So far I have learned alot. I was self taught and now I can see I missed alot of short cuts. This wonder that you so much for the oportunity.

Not YET started, but DO intend to do this. My initial efforts have been frustrating! Part of my problem is that I want to use it the same as when I took mechanical drafting. It requires a different approach which I have not acquired. It has SO MANY OPTIONS that finding the applicable 'button to push' is difficult.

A great way to do the course is to have the video running in one window and Sketchup in another window. I am on a laptop and am able to have the windows resized so that they are side by side. As the video explains a step, I will pause it and work on my own. At first, I was trying to read the instruction then perform the step but find that watching each of the video steps is much easier.

Great job on those videos Tom.

I have learned a lot from Tom's lessons. It makes designing your own projects frustrating, at times, but the results are quite rewarding when you figure out how to do it.

Too late! I went with your original advice that we wood be able to change our vote later, sorry.

Sorry Tim. Right after I made my original post saying folks would be able to answer yes at a later time, I realized the info was incorrect. I quickly edited my original post but you obviously read it before I changed it.

So this means you DO plan on taking it? It's a lot of fun. VERY frustrating at times...a good mental challenge. We all need the brain exercise every now and then!

That is what I do. I use a 24" monitor for sketchup and I keep the tutorial up on the 19" monitor. Really makes it a lot easier to follow along.

Guys, not trying to promote anything, but if you're not watching the videos, you're missing out on stuff. There are things I demonstrate and show in the videos that I'd have a hard time explaining in the written instructions.
