Diana and I went to the state fair today and has become the custom I walk around feeling an empty spot as I pass all of the spots where Shopsmith sat up their demos over the years...

Imagine the feeling walking through an Indiana State Fair, a Minnesota State Fair, a Texas State Fair etc. Knowing that you used to make a great living for 25 years selling the MKV in those venues and now its all over... really a culture shock!

Not only in regard to the SS's absence, but also the 'fairs' are not what they used to be either!:(

The Wisconsin State Fair is going on right now......I remember when the tractor dealers were all there. Of course, since it's in West Allis, you knew Allis Chalmers was going to be there.

But what impressed me the most was the logging equipment demo's. Big logs, big equipment.
Shopsmith is gone....But the German furniture manufacturer with the bubble lights in the stereo console is still there. Just what every farm house needs.
Thankfully, if you have $3.50, you can still get a cream puff.

And when the fair closes I can still have one because I've got the recipe.
