I just went out to my shop and looked at my Talon Chucks. Both of them have the name Talon & Oneway on the face plate and measure 3 1/2" across the face when closed up completely. Don's know if this will help with your question or not.

Thanks Ron!

I figured out it's a stronghold.

I see that you figured it out. Just to toss in a bit of information, when I was trying to decide which chuck to buy, I decided on the Stronghold because it was quite a bit heavier, my machine shop experience translated this to smoother cleaner cuts, and less vibration for the SS.

I imagine several of you have both. If you are only going to get one chuck to use on your MKV which model would you get. From the thread you are saying that a heavier model will give you smoother cuts and less vibration. Right now I am only doing small items and looking at trying my hand at larger vases and bowls so do not want to buy several to get the right one for the job. I have a small chuck that works on my SS and my midi pen lathe I picked up in a trade. So looking for something to use on larger items on the MKV.
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

I only have experience with the stronghold, I turn a wide variety of projects, from very small, to larger bowls and vases, so far the stronghold does them all very well. I'm very well satisfied, and would buy it again in a heartbeat, I'd also not hesitate to recommend it to a friend, perhaps others who have experience with both might have different ideas, hope this helps.
