This may well be my last post on this forum. I must have done something to make people mad because posts I have made in the last few days have been ignored.

I know I don't make fantastic projects and I don't buy old machines and restore them, but I input what I could when I felt it was appropriate. The last straw was when I posted about the band saw sale and got no response out of sixty some views and someone else posted and gets a thanks for the heads up. Yes my post got pushed way down, but not far enough down that people could not read it. I have PMed people and have received no response.

Another item that upset me, but I let it go, was when I responded to the birthday wish and it appeared that no one cared about the fact that my wife had broken her foot and was immobile. I did not expect a lot of sympathy but I did hope someone might at least ask how she was doing.

I might stick around in the background because I have gotten a lot out of this forum and enjoy the restorations and projects.

Bob,

I typically don't read stuff in the community forum (especially birthday wishes) and I had already seen the bandsaw e-mail (they could knock 50% off and I still couldn't afford it).
I too, and I think most of us have posted items and received no response. I also felt slighted, but it was nothing personal. People just didn't have anything to say or contribute.
I am sorry to hear about the Mrs's foot. We often take mobility for granted. I hope and pray that she heals quickly. I also hope and pray that you will remain a member of the ShopSmith family (dare I say brotherhood?).

Sincerely,

Ron

Yep! It IS easy to feel slighted. But SO What! I do not think there are any meanies who would slight anyone on this forum intentionally. An isolated incident does not a war make!.

Ron you do make a good point re the forum in which a post is put. I myself do not filter them out, but the capability IS there and I understand why some busy folks would take advantage of it.

I can relate to the Mrs. mobility problem. I have an ongoing similar problem with my Mrs. We carry a wheel chair around in the trunk wherever we go! You WILL get used to it! Hopefully YOUR Mrs. issue is TEMPORARY!!!

Stick around(please)! There is far too much POSITIVE stuff here to miss! YOU have made meaningful contributions - Continue(please)!

Hey Bob, don't give up on this bunch. I think at one time or another we have all felt like we have p----- everyone off, I know I have. But then I just figure if my posts are not the greatest then a lot of the other ones are as lame as mine. They don't fine us, YET, for dumb posts so just keep posting right along with the rest of us.
I like the others am sorry to hear about the Mrs. imobility and hope it is a tempory situation. Just be glad that you have a Mrs. with you. Watch from the shadows for a bit if you must, but don't drop out, these are really a good bunch of folks on here.

So hang in there and keep iin contact.........................

Bob I also have a quick question for you. Your post says no response after 60 views. Is there a way to tell how many times a post has been looked at? If there is I am unaware of it. If you would rather answer with a pm I understand, but sure would lke an answer to my queston.....Thanks in advance......From another Bob

Hi Bayside Bob,

When you open one of the forums look at the far left of each post and you will see a column labeled "Views".

Easy to miss if you normally only read the titles of the posts.
