Stop Collars
I need some of the regular stop collars for the 1 1/4" tubes, and SS says Not Available.
None on ebay. I need about 6. Anyone know of a suitable substitute?

one possibility is the adjustable stop collar.mbcabinetmaker wrote:I need some of the regular stop collars for the 1 1/4" tubes, and SS says Not Available.None on ebay. I need about 6. Anyone know of a suitable substitute?
another would be to find some pipe with the right ID. drill and tap it, and then cut slices to make stop collars.
also, I sent you a PM with a couple other options.

The stop collars set the depth for any of the mounting tubes being tables and some SPT,s. I need them for setting the depth of my accessories on my new SPT benches to keep the tubes above the drawers. I am sure I can come up with a another option but would just as soon have the collars.

Check around your area for any local industrial supply companies or nut/bolt suppliers. You can always find on-line also. Grainger industrial supply was mentioned, also McMaster-Carr, http://www.mcmaster.com/#shaft-collars/=37ykhf or many other sources. What you need should be readily available and not very expensive.

Mark,
I use these from McMaster-Carr. A bit more expensive, but they don't mar the tubes.

Here in Canada I get a reasonable substitute from Princess Auto stores, $1.79ea last time I got any. They are sold as retainers for round shafting in the power transmission section along with pulleys, pillow blocks, drive hubs, etc. They are clunkier than good ones and probably should have the set screw replaced with one that won't potentially mar the tubes. Inspite of their store name, PA is somewhat equivalent to your Harbor Freight stores and farm supply stores, so HF might have them. Don
