Let me add even more to this discussion. I actually have (and use) three types: a stacked set, a wobble and a two blade wobble.

First, let me say that I use the stacked set for wider dados when square sides and flat bottoms are critical. If I could only afford one dado set, I would get a stacked set.

I use the wobble for plywood cabinets and less precise work because they are easier to get the width adjusted correctly.

A friend gave me the two blade wobble a few years back and it's a good compromise. It has two blades that can be adjusted to angle away from each other, thus widing the cut. The one I have was made by Sears and is great for the common 1/4" dado since the two blades (1/8' each) are parrallel and 90" to the arbor.
