How to Attach Miter Gauge to table?

Post by dannos »

Greetings,
While reviewing my Shopsmith Manuals recently, I noticed in the Disc Sanding portion they recommend attaching the Miter Gauge to the saw table. I didn't see an explanation of "how" to fasten it though.
Looking at my 1993 Model 510 I don't see a way to do this, am I over looking something?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Elementary, Watson.

Look at the miter gauge bar. It should have a slot with a recessed set screw. Place miter gauge in miter table slot where you want it, and tighten down on the set screw. It expands the bar and wedges it pretty firmly. Works on your band saw table too.

Doc, thanks a bunch, I'll look at it when I get home today. I didn't see any obvious way to fasten it at 1:30 a.m. this morning after removing and cleaning the sheaves, motor, and several Coors Lights :)

Thanks,
Dan
