ER belt question

Post by stevespix »

I have an ER that my Father bought in 1950 in great shape and was wondering if any of you guys out there had replaced the belt with a link belt and if so how well does it function. The belt I have now is in OK shape but was wondering from a performance stand point that I might replace it. Just looking for some input.
Thanks
Steve

Skip Campbell, Yahoo group 10ERUSERS moderator, feels that the link belts are hard on the aluminum pulleys found on the model 10 (and Mark V for that matter). He has observed aluminum dust after using the link belt with aluminum pulleys. I have not used a link belt on my 10ER.
