Does anyone know if the smaller 9" Sand Flee is available in a Shopsmith version? Thanks, Alec

Hi,
If you take a look on shopsmith for the sand flee this is all that comes up:
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... d-flee.htm
(Side note, I and several other here have built our own versions, mine I called a sand free and used all parts I already had and some scrap plywood to put it together. It uses the 6" sanding drum so it is not very wide but works for a lot of things I do).

I keep watching this thread to see if anyone will post a picture or a plan for a self made "flee".
A six inch sanding platform would work nicely for crafts.

Hi,
Here was my 6-inch-drum solution:
https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=2116
I did not record exact dimensions on it but the table is pretty flexible. When I said 5 inches was taken out of the old 500-table-tie-bar, that figure was pretty exact.
(In recent weeks I confirmed that this unit works at either side of the headstock, due to the symmetrical placement of the quill-axis in the headstock. However, in order to use it where the lathe-tail-center usually resides, it's best to remove the table carriage from the way-tubes.)

As far as I can tell, the 9-inch version of the Sand-Flee is not available from Shopsmith, though it will make a nice addition if they did.
