Flexible Shaft

Years ago I owned a Mark 5 and I had a flexible shaft grinding/sanding tool that attached to the chuck fitted to the headstock. Is this a Shopsmith part, and is it still available?

Hi and welcome to the group!

As far as the flexible shaft goes yes shopsmith did sell them but they are no longer a product. I have seen them come up on ebay from time to time so that might be your best bet.

No longer available. :(

So you get to adapt something else to the shopsmith. Which really isn't hard to do with the drill chuck.

Lee Valley has an interesting one complete with built in vacuum.

Hi Russ!,

Welcome to these forums. I hope you hang around...from your first post, am I to understand that you no longer own a Mark V? If knot, what are interested in the flexible drive for?
