I am new to the site and wanted to share my short story on a fix.
I always wanted a shop smith and was talking to a friend about things and the subject came up about wood working and I told him that i would like to get a shop smith some day. Well he said he had one that was given to him and he was doing nothing with it and it was just taking up space in his shop and said I could have it

. Now it sits in my shop waiting to get cleaned up and ready to run. Motor works fine. I don't now if I have all the things that came with it when it was new so I ordered the manual for it. It was missing the part that cranks the saw table up and down. I have the handle but missing the part that goes on the 3/8'' square shaft. So I used a 3/8'' drive x 5/8'' deep well socket, it fit on there just fine like it was made for it. Now I can lock the table in place. I look forward to getting other parts for doing wood working. I have done some back in high school but that was a long long time ago.

Clyde, welcome to the forum. This is a very active site with a lot of members who are willing to help out all the time. You may not always agree with information stated but it is always good information. We all are allowed to have our own opinions and encourage each other to have a say.
I am sure you will have nothing but good advise from fellow woodworkers .
Again welcome to the forums, and have a Merry Christmas...........

Well! Christmas comes early for some folks!:D You must have been
Really good!;)
Do you know which model it is(a table size and description of the front edge will 'tell'). Is the 'handle' a crank or a lever with a knob? Are the flatwasher and wingnut there? Perhaps the 'missing' piece is among the 'loose' items(I assume there are some).

You have acquired a Mark V model 500!
The 'missing' part(s) are the second and fourth from the left in the post below.

I looked into getting the round crank handle but shop smith said it would inter-fear with other parts of the table. So I made the part i needed.
