I've been looking into options for telescoping legs for my 510... (originals were long gone when i got it) and I came across "structural pipe clamps".

The Kee Klamp seems to be one of the most common. I can see the potential for all sorts of supports/legs to use with the Shopsmith. They seem to be readily available and cheaper than a lot of OE parts.

Places Like Harbour Freight and Acklands have them or you can buy them online. What do you guys think...

Welcome to the Forum. Can get them in 1"? If so, they might work okay.

I did come across spec sheets indicating fittings for 1.05" pipe.

What do you know??? It seems that it is likely that they ARE KNOT made in China. IMHO, they will not work well as replacements for the telescoping legs because they are knot adjustable/telescoping. Unless you never move your table system, you wood have to have many sets of tubes handy for all the different heights. If, on the other hand, you only use one table height setting, they wood work fine. I can see a lot of other uses for them besides the SS though!!!:D

I think Dusty has played with some of this stuff, perhaps another company making like things.... so maybe he can add some more information.

As a quick note, the parts are designed to work with pipe, sch 40 in both AL and steel, the shopsmith tubes are tubing and have a much lighter wall and slightly different OD's. You will want to look for fittings that work with tubing.

It does give me a great deal of things to think about, and I have thought of doing some shifting of planes and or directions and this sort of fitting would allow that. Thanks for the posting, maybe I'll do some designs this winter while the shop is closed.

I Started looking at telescoping legs and then considered end table supports and many other things.

Telescoping legs could be made with a stop collar and 1.25 od tubing w/ 100 wall.

The challenge here in Canada is many Used SS sellers on ebay won't ship to Canada even though US postal service ships here.

I don't know whether I understand the problem here or not. Telescopic legs or mounting hardware; it seems that both are being discussed.

The hardware that is used by Shopsmith in conjunction with the "telescopic legs" is manufactured by Holleander. I have purchased parts from Holleander through a distributor in Phoenix, AZ.

I didn't post because I had a problem in particular. I started this post because I felt some of these fittings could be used in many different ways (as you have) to increase the versatility of our shopsmiths,:D

Nope, you did good. I am guilty of reading into your post and am, at the same time, guilty of being too anxious to make reference to my adjustable, tilting out feed table.

You are absolutely correct about the tubing fixtures. They can be very helpful. I am looking for one now that will function as a union between two pieces of "extension tubing". I want something that will keep them aligned, on the outside surface, but not interfere with the fixtures that attach to the table( miter gauge, rip fence, etc).
