I have had my Shopsmith for a number of years but did not know abut the forum tell today. I am a wood carver with a small shop in my back yard. I carve fish, birds, canes, and walking sticks. I have enjoyed my shopsmiths versatility it has been a great help in the things I make. The band saw and the planer are the only two attachments I have added to date. The lathe set up and the band saw has gotten the most use. Then the vertical drill press when I am making canes. I am about to Step into the world of making some cabinets and other projects that require more cabinetry skills that I now possess. I look forward to learning and sharing with others in the forum.

I took it to be a bolo tie slide with a wolf's head carving.

Welcome to the Forum, CV3! Glad to see another carver on board. The only problem for me is - the 2,500 or so miles between us.

Thanks for the welcome. There is no meaning to the avatar it is a picture of one of the things I make. It is a belt buckles.

I make pens on the shopsmith and turn bases for some of the things I carve. Here are some examples of what I do. I used the Shopsmith in some way on each of them.
